KATIZINGHA MI NIINA | 01.06.2020

hello lovely ladies n gents!! I hope you are all having a radiant special day and that you are finding many things to be grateful for!!

We had an outstanding week here in Rowlett! I love this ward, and I feel like I have clicked into my fun groove which I adore. Missionary work is so much easier once you enter that flow state.

HOLY WRIT I ENJOYED
- An excellent talk that uplifted me this week: "You can do it Now" by Elder Uchtdorf. This was so good, and I believe in this principle hardcore. There have totally been times in my life, even during my mission where I feel completely unable to continue. But the beautiful thing is that I can!! And that God has provided, and will provide, the strength, support, and desire to do so. What a miracle.
- I have begun studying the Book of Mormon from the beginning! Thanks Come, follow me program U ROCK!!
anyway, I have already been immersed in so much rich truth from the first few pages of the Book of Mormon. One insight I would love to share:

1 Nephi 2:12
"And thus Laman and Lemuel, being the eldest, did murmur against their father. And they did murmur because they knew not the dealings of that God who had created them."

1 Nephi 2:19-20
"And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto me, saying: Blessed art thou, Nephi, because of thy faith, for thou hast sought me diligently, with lowliness of heart. And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper, and shall be led to a land of promise; yea, even a land which I have prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands."

The contrast is so interesting!! We all have things in our life we can murmur about, things that can cause division, and pull us down. Oftentimes this complaining can be remedied with a deepened understanding, especially understanding about our Heavenly Father and His plan for  us. I know it has definitely soothed a lot of my worries and complaints.
Nephi did a great job at this, even though he did experience worries and the same trials as his brother he turned to the Lord and was guided, and blessed for it. I love how often in the Book of Mormon it talks about the Lord guiding His beloved children, so special. A guiding principle!!

interviews with President Dalton:-)
I learned so much in my interview with the mission president!! Time flew in there and my comp said I was in there talking for almost an hour OOPS SORRY I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS ABOUT HOW TO BE A GOOD MISSIONARY but I am simply so glad to have the opportunity to learn from one of God's chosen leaders who can recieve revelation on my behalf. I came out of the interview feeling so confident, secure, and excited to treat every day left in the field as my last!! I also learned about how a mission really should not be an end in any way, but a progressive foundation for the rest of my life. So that was excellent:)

showered with colorful language on the train
so a fellow commuter asked me as my companion and I were boarding the train if I could look up the bible verse he had embroidered on his baseball hat. I told him that I didn't have my English Bible on me sadly! he then asked if I could google it on my phone, to which I said that I actually do not have google on my phone either! (this is true, we have a filter on our phones that blocks google) he then started to give me a hUGE PIECE OF HIS MIND about how I am a liar because there's no way I don't have google on my phone, and told me exactly where I will be going after this life (hint: NOT Heaven), called me some really blaring words, started crying at one point, and tried to get my companion to side with him on the issue, called me anorexic (??), said there is no way I am a missionary, and many other choice phrases! most of the time I was just trying to keep myself from chuckling aloud whilst simultaneously praying and clenching my hand around the pepper spray I conveniently stored in my pocket.
it was kind of scary but now it is something we laugh about multiple times a day!! One of those moments that make you so happy to have a high security apartment and a companion by your side and God watching out for you!! haha!

a decadent dinner and conversation
We enjoyed such a glorious dinner with ample amounts of gnochi, pasta, and little toasts with ricotta and nutella with our favorite family from Brazil!!
Then, their lovely friend who is an exchange student from Brazil came over and we got to chat for a long time! it was so fun and we ended up sharing a little message with her about why the gospel has helped us in our lives and a short scripture from the Book of Mormon!! I felt so peaceful and happy and we all enjoyed feeling the Holy Ghost together. Anna explained that she felt "light, flowing" in Portuguese. I love that. And I love Anna. And I love the Book of Mormon, and Jesus Christ, and teaching the Gospel to people I love with people I love.

I LOVE EACH OF YOU SO MUCH!! SENDING ALL THE LOVE FROM MY LITTLE CORNER OF TEXAS!!
