a really groovy (yet tricky) past 2 weeks over here in rad Rowlett, TX!!!! my new companion, Hermana Alam, is really rockin', she is teaching me to more Mexican in my humor aka teaching me how to not get offended when she brutally makes fun of me and just make fun of her back, it is a delicate art form and I intend on mastering this sassy humor of hers by the time I finish out my mission. Truly companions strengthen each other in the randomest ways. Honestly though Hermana Alam is such a light and I am so inspired by her passion for the work, and the richness and sincerity of her testimony!! I am grateful for her!! We are cruisin'!

assorted highlights!!!
-we ate a delicious seafood soup w veggies at a restaurant called La Fogata and Okay I LOVE MEXICAN SEAFOOD SOUP WHAT IT WAS DELICIOUS
- Broke through a really hard rut!! I got slammed with mad discouragement and low self esteem the first bit of this transfer, and it almost knocked the breath out of me dang, like Satan works so hard on us to make us not believe in ourselves!! We are always stronger and can and will always overcome the hard days!!! I have seen this happen too many times in my life to doubt that. Nonetheless for some reason every time these hard times hit it feels uniquely so hard and different from every other time! But I am just so grateful that God gives us opposition so we so strongly and truly appreciate the good days!
- read a really cool General Conference talk about helping refugees that got me so amped to serve other people. It's called "Refuge from the Storm" April 2016 by Patrick Kearon. Highly recommend!! We have the coolest opportunity to serve other people, and we are all beggars here. Reach out, lift those around you!
- I sang a lot of hymns during my personal study and it made me so happy and helped me feel the spirit. It especially helped becuase I was feeling really stressed for some bits and singing hymns always helps me feel calm and the spirit!! Grateful!!
- Our friend Edwin came to church!!All dressed up and we found out he had already begun reading the Book of Mormon! It was so exciting to have him at church and see how loving the whole ward was to him. Love that stuff.
- Had a really special and sacred experience yesterday during a lesson. Basically my testimony was strengthened so deeply of so many concepts I was just slowly learning little by little. Long story short, that entire day I was feeling so down and stressed and anxious, but we met this amazingwoman, Misely. We cried together and hugged and felt the spirit so strongly!! And for some reason that point onward all my sadness and anxiety was blissfully washed away. I was so grateful, because I was truly so burdened, and it was like I felt that burdened lifted as I taught someone else and mourned with them.
GOD IS SERIOUSLY SO GRACIOUS AND LOVING TOWARDS HIS CHILDREN I KNOW THAT WITH ALL OF MY HEART.

I love my mission, not because it has been fun or because it has been easy or what I expected or any of the reasons I expected to love it. I love my mission because I have learned that experiencing the Love of our Savior Jesus Christ is probably more special and sacred than pretty much anything else on this entire planet. Peace beyond comparing. And I am glad.

I love you humans!!
Keep radiating love and peace to those around you, and know that there is an Hermana Rasmussen in Rowlett, TX rooting for you!!

les mando un abrazoooooo
con cariƱo,
