!SHIPPED OUT! | 01.07.19

Y'ALL
EVERYTHING IS CHANGING
I AM GETTING
DOUBLED IN
TRAINING
AND
SHIPPED OUT

HERMANA RASMUSSEN IS HEADED TO MOUNT PLEASANT
I am going to have a child
in a brand new area
it will be so fun
but I am also quite nervous because they are entrusting me with a precious brand new missionary

a bittersweet day: I have truly loved serving here in Garland and will be very sad to leave this ward. also I am very much looking forward to being immersed in east Texas and everything that goes along with that (razorback hogs & other wild animals, brisket,... the rest is tbd)

get ready for a wild ride

I feel like my life as a missionary is 10x as dense as normal life and it is such a roller coaster
sometimes jaja. I do not believe that this transfer is over!!! They are speeding up in a scary way

FUN ITEMS
- Mission conference on Saturday, it was extremely fun and spiritually filling experience. I got to see some excellent friends including mi querido Hermana Casper <3<3<3
- Joy's Kitchen- legit and extremely delicious Korean food at this total hole in the wall restaurant yummmm
- i transported a cake shaped like a box of chocolates approximately 1.5 miles in the basket of my bike to district meeting. It arrived in pristine condition.
- other assorted aspects of my life that bring me joy: ginger tumeric tea, the zone leaders/magical Christlike elves hand-delivering our books of Mormon to our house in the pouring rain, and my companion filling my journal with amazing works of art. (I will miss her!)
- I bought pants today!

SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING
- I relish study time. It has been a very spiritually filling week! Some topics I have been meditating over lately: the importance of family, the nature of responsibility and stewardship as a missionary, and how intimately and perfectly our Heavenly Father knows each one of us. This week has filled me with the desire to stand a little taller and stretch myself beyond my zone of comfort (I think that God has a sense of humor because 3 days after I made a goal to push myself out of my comfort zone I received news that I was being transferred 3 hours away with a brand new missionary! haha be careful what you wish for I suppose)
- Develop deep roots!! This applies to anyone and everyone, in basically all aspects. If you think about the analogy of a small seed slowly growing into a plant: so many tiny things have to happen to that seed in order for deep roots and successful growth to happen. We can develop deep roots and stable growth when we prioritize consistently doing those things that will let us have a deeper commitment to what we care about.

A CHALLENGE
- Come up with a simple, grounding image or short, powerful phrase to remind you of your goals. Make it something with personal and emotional significance, and something that can tether you quickly back to your source of motivation for bigger goals.
(I got this idea from a super awesome talk "Return and Recieve" in the April 2017 General Conference by Elder M. Russell Ballard
" When we can reduce a goal to one clear image or one or two powerful and symbolic words, that goal can then become part of us and guide virtually everything we think and do")
I like that!!!!

have a super stellar week and keep me in ya thoughts. it will probably be one of the more chaotic weeks of my mission, but it should be really eventful and an adventure so I am happy.

I am moving, so stay tuned for my new address!!

xoxo
