- the ability to run
- and much more!!

I am glad to be in a time of my life when gratitude lists are extremely easy to formulate!

ASTONISHING BBQ WITH GREAT FOLKS
I ate Texas Barbeque for the first time of my mission this week, and it was an excellent experience! We were invited by our excellent English Class teacher, Brother Blaney (the same Brother Blaney who printed us John Wayne posters to put in our apartments) and were able to go with a lovely older couple from San Luis. We shared our reasons for being on our missions and a warm happy feeling was felt! It was very sweet and the brisket was delicious. I am grateful to be eating more Mexican food than ribs, but de vez en cuando I don't mind some nice barbacoa!!!

ZONE CONFERENCE
woah, zone conference was really restorative and inspiring!! Here are some revelatory insights I gained:
- Sister Dalton taught us about visualization... I love her training's on positive psychology. Visualization lets us create our realities with intention and positivity. It lets us rise above the natural sometimes mediocre editions of our lives and craft what we want to achieve. Kind of a way of forming vision behind the work we do, which is sooo important (this all being said I have just barely begun to visualize missionary work and other aspects of my life and I am totally still new and learning)
- God's ways are higher than our ways...as we follow His ways we can link ourselves to the light source of life. He will cleanse us of our fears, anxieties, worries... and enable us.
- True Love only grows. This conference we were able to hear from our Mission President's former mission president, lemme tell ya how sacred and tender it was to see. There was so much love and respect palpably circulating between these humans and it got me thinking to how eternal and sacred relationships are, and in particular the relationships we make as we are engaged in the most majestic work of the Lord!! these relationships will only beautify and mature over time. How cool!!
- We must constantly and vigilantly ensure that we can feel the Song of Redeeming Love.
and so much more!! a spiritual buffet, you might say.

ON EMPATHY V.S. SYMPATHY
I listened to a sweet talk a missionary friend of mine shared with me called
"Empathy and Pure Love" by Elaine Dalton. Really shifted my view on missionary work and solidified some things I had been learning about how to relate to other humans on a deep level. Cliffnotes of my learning: Sympathy is relating to someone simply because you are feeling the same way. Empathy is relating to someone by allowing yourself to summon a time you have felt, and gotten through, a similar reality. Empathy allows us to comfort and help others while maintaining a strong vision that THINGS CAN AND WILL GET BETTER!!

A SPIRITUAL CHALLENGE
