WEEK 2! | 8.24.18
Talofa mis amigos!!!
Still doin just gr8 over here at the MTC. It is actually a very special place!!! It's like an uplifting cosmopolitan melting pot with mediocre food!!! I am in a branch with almost all international kids because we all already know English and the language we will be speaking on our missions. It has been one of my favorite parts about the MTC so far actually which I am super grateful for because I was initially kind of bummed about not being in a Spanish learning district like I was expecting to be in (basically all my classes are in English but I'll still be speaking Spanish once I get to Dallas). I'm meeting the coolest and most interesting people ever i love them a lot. There are people in my branch from Albania, Brazil, Samoa, Mexico, Colombia, Ukraine/Canada, and more. They have such cool stories and are really inspiring and amazing people. I think missionary work is so cool because these super young people are so inspiring to me!!! I've been able to see all the sacrifices many have had to make to be here and it is so humbling and cool.
I have become closer friends with my companions, I love her. She is teaching me Samoan and i am teaching her Spanish. We both love the lil Thailand sisters, check out the cute attached pic of them! They are so funny
They keep us very busy here which I actually really like most of the time. I also have super enjoyed the chance to have a lot of studying time, it is probably my favorite part of the MTC!! Also I really like the MTC choir it is super powerful and singing makes me happy. It's cool because we usually just have 2 practices a week and then perform and there are legit 1,000 people in the choir hahaha but somehow it sounds soooo good every time!! It's crazy. The church is true.
This week has been really cool because I have started to understand how personally the Gospel of Jesus Christ impacts me personally and perfectly. Something I've been studying praying and pondering about a lot lately is the principle of faith! Faith is power. When we have faith, Heavenly Father is enabled to stretch forth His hand in our lives even more than he already is. If we have faith, we can act with the power of God to accomplish all we need if it is for good. It is so inspiring, and something that can result from drawing closer to Christ through learning of Him, having faith, and turning to Him through repenting! So so sweet. Check out Moroni 10:7 and Ether 12:4. Also Jacob 4:5-6 is DOPE.
I love you guys and if you have read this far you are a real trooper. I am so happy to have this sacred time of my life to be a missionary and to help other people come unto Christ in their own ways!! I know that He is the only way to eternal life and true peace. I also love you guys and PLEASE email me whenever. I can only email on Fridays but I can read your emails anytime please send me some nice messages it would make me so happy!!!!
Love you all, pls keep me in the loop on your lives!!
xoxo
