HEALING IN HIS WINGS | 12.23.19

Malachi 4:2
"But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth..."

this scripture was sacred to me this week. I am learning more about Jesus Christ than I ever have my entire life. As I allow the Light of Christ to further permeate into my life, my being, my existence, priorities, and perspective naturally align. 
I am grateful for a Savior who knows me perfectly. It is Him to whom I turn when I truly know that nobody else can even begin to understand me. When I sometimes don't even understand myself. He knows the end from the beginning, and in Him I can find refuge within my self. I am so glad. How precious is this knowledge to me..! 

I have seen, time and time again, that Christ wants nothing more than to comfort, to heal, to save, and to exalt us. I focused on turning with all my heart towards all the sources of goodness in my life, and they bloomed before my eyes. After a rocky week I finally have settled back into a progressive groove here in the lovely streets of Rowlett, my new home. This is the most strange, peculiar, miraculous, and expanding work I have known. 

I sincerely invite you to study the Doctrine and Covenants section 76. One of my favorite verses in this section was verse 24:
"That by him, and through him, and of him, the worlds are and were created, and the inhabitants thereof are begotten sons and daughters unto God."

I marvel at His creations, and stand completely awash with amazement at the level of mercy He has shown to me, a sometimes broken, flawed, and very young child of His. Every day I seek to emulate some tiny level of His majesty and creativeness-- and the coolest part is that He helps me obtain this. 

Christmas is special because we have more opportunities to meditate on Jesus Christ and His atonement, which allows us to overcome every single obstacle between where we are and eternal happiness and bliss. 

Other assorted, less important details:
- I saw my dearest darlingest sweetest Hermana Moorhead@ zone conference. It was a complete surprise and a complete delight
- We live on a peninsula and almost every day we get to bike over portions of the lake. It is by far one of the highlights of this area, it is so spiritual to me for some reason to be cruising over a lake on my bike, looking out over the water, some excellent music playing on my phone... complete and utter bliss :-)
- I went on an excellent exchange with my amazing old companion LA MERA MERA...  I missed her and love her even when she has us eat at Royal Palace Chinese Buffet (never. again.)
- I participated in a pin exchange with our good buddy Davis who works downstairs. I came out of the ordeal with a shiny new gold star pin. stoked. stars are totally my shape. 
- my ALL-TIME favorite abuelita, Jesus, from my last area, showed up at church yesterday!! life=made. I love her dearly!

anyway, I really hope that, no matter what you each might be going through, experiencing, or feeling like this holiday season, you will remember that you can so easily fall into the loving kindness of the Prince of Peace and feel His love for you. I promise that. 

I desire for each of you to have a cuddly amazing warm and snowy (hopefully) Christmas!!! You are excellent!!!

Hello, such a rejuvenating and powerful week!! I am grateful for  -Hermana Huerta -the city of Garland - People from Monterrey -the fantastic members of this ward I get to be surrounded by -biiiiig skies and yummy clouds -tamales -thrift stores and learning to budget -my basket on my bike -friends - making everyday comparisons to the Gospel - the ability to run  - and much more!! WILL WE SURVIVE THE ABUELITAS?!!? | 9.17.18

Buenos dias mis amigos!! Another killer week here in Garland. Hermana Casper's mom asked if the honeymoon phase of our companionship has ended yet, NOPE still best of friends. I love my companion so much sometimes when we are separated for like a few seconds (like when she plays the hymns in sacrament meeting) I get sad because I miss her haha. i am content so many funny things happened this week. STUFF THAT I LEARNED At least as a missionary, the spirit is most of the time the same thing as your thoughts. A lot of people and missionaries talk about guidance from the spirit as being some slightly mystical, magnetic force that guides them. It's not like that, at least for me. I have seen multiple miracles this week (knocking on a door of a stranger and all 3 of us ending up in happy tears, finding a random 20 y/o who is way stoked on the gospel when we decided to knock on a completely random door, running into people at the grocery store who my companion has been ...

WEEK 2! | 8.24.18

Talofa mis amigos!!! Still doin just gr8 over here at the MTC. It is actually a very special place!!! It's like an uplifting cosmopolitan melting pot with mediocre food!!! I am in a branch with almost all international kids because we all already know English and the language we will be speaking on our missions. It has been one of my favorite parts about the MTC so far actually which I am super grateful for because I was initially kind of bummed about not being in a Spanish learning district like I was expecting to be in (basically all my classes are in English but I'll still be speaking Spanish once I get to Dallas). I'm meeting the coolest and most interesting people ever i love them a lot. There are people in my branch from Albania, Brazil, Samoa, Mexico, Colombia, Ukraine/Canada, and more. They have such cool stories and are really inspiring and amazing people. I think missionary work is so cool because these super young people are so inspiring to me!!! I've bee...
