ELDERS CHASING ME OUTTA ANOTHER AREA | 12.9.19

holaaaa mis amores!!!!!!

Luis-- reflecting on our obstacles/testimonies
We were waiting for someone to answer the door (basic) and this friend marched up and we immediately started having such a meaningful conversation about overcoming addiction, the power of the word of God, and how each of us have to go through certain things in order to recieve a testimony. he acknowledged that he really needed to talk to someone in that moment, and confessed that, after 4 years of being completely sober, was about to drink for the first time. When he saw us he renewed his desire to stay strong and sober- so cool!! moments like these build my testimony and have really helped me see that God places us where we need to be. It is by far one of the greatest pleasures of missionary work to witness tiny miracles in the world and realize you played a (albeit tiny) role!! blessings rain.

(h)exchanges/hawks/hermana holbrook
Hermana Holbrook is a good friend!! I like her! We had a good exchange.
Highlights include:
- finding and teaching a BEAUTIFUL family from Burma. We all sat on the floor, cross-legged, and we very simply expounded a few simple gospel truths, like our divine nature and the love God has for us that can fill us completely. It was so cool, and I felt the spirit so strongly even testifying of those simple truths. The beautiful kids were so attentive and excited to learn about Jesus Christ. I am thankful.
- watching a HAWK scoop up a DEAD SQUIRREL from the ground. Is this the nature channel? Bear Grills wya? It was so hilarious and random, in the middle ofthis Garland suburb. Hilarious.
- Had a super sweet discussion about the power of our thoughts and mentalities. The mentality of leadership, of self-care, of victimization, and of positive self-talk. So cool!! And helped me understand these concepts a lot more.

a discussion biases- Relief Society
we ended up having such a cool, refreshing discussion about biases and labels during our class discussion on Sunday. We talked about the reality of labels we put on other people and the danger that can come when we see the labels we put on people before we see them as individuals. An idea I had been thinking about a whole lot lately, and I love it. Move past the labels, and love people with no inhibitions or prejudices!!I am a fan!!

whitewash training round
received transfer news last night:
I am headed to a brand new area and I will be training a brand new missionary! I am feeling nervous for sure. A bit intimidating to be going to an area I actually know nothing about, with someone who has never done missionary work before. I have a good feeling about this transfer, though, and know growth and exploration and new adventures lie ahead. I cannot complain!! woohhooooo. However, any extra prayers the next couple days would be greatly appreciated as well :-)
Also kinda funny, all 4 of the hermanas are getting kicked outta Garland 4th and we are getting replaced with elders- the exact same thing that happened in my last area haha what is the deal ?!!??

a challenge !!!
drink some yummy horchata!!
in December, drinking Horchata
Hermana Huerta taught me how to make yummy horchata and she is the MVP becuase of that.
Also, I invite you to sing a hymn or song by yourself! I have started most of my personal studies this week with a SONG. It has been quite enjoyable, love it! A few nice christmas songs too. Really makes me happiiiii <3
