TORNADOES AND 2X THE GOOD TIMES | 10.21.19
A very fun week! I am feeling sore, well fed, happy, and loved!
A REALLY GOOD TALK I LISTENED TO:
"Gifts of Love" by Henry B. Eyring, a BYU devotional. It hit me really hard, especially when it connected to Jesus Christ's ultimate gift of love at the end. I loved this talk a lot because it helped me formulate some ideas i have had lately about developing myself out of simply love for myself and out of a desire to serve others in the future. So sweet and I loved the way i felt as i listened to this great talk <3
A TORNADO DOWN THE STREET:
There was a tornado about 1/2 a mile from our home last night. Pretty scary. Being a slightly naive and sheltered missionaries we didn't really protect ourselves in any form but we realized the next norning that it was actually quite serious! the sky was PURPLE AND GREEN! Large quantities of lightning! Kind of a crazy night!
DOUBLE THE AREAS TWICE THE FUN:
So with a wild turn of events i have a NEW COMPANION (Hermana Mera, she is fantastic) and we are working BOTH OUR AREAS. We are working the entire stake in Spanish and we have been more busy (got me wishing i had hermionie's time turner fr) than I have been my entire mission but somehow I am not that stressed bc stuff has just been working out somehow bc we pray a lot and have been relying on members and other missio aries a lot. God helps us out when he puts more responsibilities on our shoulders :-) and we grow that way!
SPIRITUAL ENLIGHTENMENT:
Psalms 147:4
Isaiah 40:26
Also this month I have been focusing on dilligence and dedication, and have learned a WHOLE LOT!
A note from Neal A. Maxwell's talk "Endure it Well"
"If certain mortal experiences were cut short, it would be like pulling up a flower to see how the roots are doing. Put another way, too many anxious openings of the oven door, and the cake falls instead of rising. Moreover, enforced change usually does not last, while productive enduring can ingrain permanent change."
I love that, and I know that patience and endurance are crucial in allowing us to develop on all levels and I am so grateful to have learned this principle more deeply...
A CHALLENGE:
Make a meal for your friends and sit down and eat it together. Cooking food and breaking bread with those I love is something I have learned to treasure as a missionary❣
I have a lot of love for each of you, please write me if you feel inclined. I hope you have a purely excellent week full of loved ones, big hugs, and yummy food, and doing what you love. I am here for you!!!
Con bastante cariño,
