DRANK BABY FORMULA | 10.14.19

HELLO my people!! wowowow what a week. really a whole lot of learning, and learning through teaching, and some crying and some indigestion and sickness and lots and lots of biking. This Hermana cannot complain! cheezin big through it all!

DRANK BABY FORMULA
not exactly sure what more I need to say. we were with Hermano y Hermana Reyes after church on Sunday at their house, and they whipped us up some fake chickory coffee, and Hermano Reyes slyly mixed in a heaping spoonful of "Nido" brand baby formula in there. Why?
beats me.
was it good?
no comment. okay fine I drank the whole mug. but still
i drANK BABY FORMULA HAHAHAHA.

SICKY ICKY
I took a day in and Hermana lata our sister training leader was also sicky so we made it a chill day. We took 5 hour naps, and i made homemade tortillas and refried beans and some proper breakfast burritos. I then discovered a tiny DVD player so we watched "Legacy" and "How Rare a Posession" while sipping on emergen c with apple cider. I was a fan of this experience even though i was ill the whole time

CHANGING COMPAS
I will be changing companions today so my new compa will be the lovely Hermana Mera and we will be working BOTH AREAS! wooooooo. Stay tuned :-)

RIOS FAMILY MIRACLE
So! basically, I remember going by this apartment several times when I was here a year ago with Hermana Casper, and never really being able to have a solid lesson with this family. Well, fast forward to the beginning of last transfer with Hermana Moorhead and suddenly we are totally teaching them with her good member friend right there in the living room with us!!Then, a few days later, we were biking home at 9 pm when Elder Wells called us, who works in the English side of our area. He said he just could not stop thinking about this family that he and Elder Nerdin had found when they were on exchanges here in our area!!AFter a fair bit of sleuthing around we discovered that the alleged family they had found was, in fact, the RIOS FAMILY who we are actively teaching!! Whaaaat
so, there's more.
Elder Wells realized that we have a lesson with that family the very night we were doing a district blitz in our area. Naturally, we sent Elder Wells nd his companion over there and they had an amazing lesson!! and set up a return appointment with all 4 of us for Saturday. The spirit was suuuuuper strong, and I felt very impressed to invite them all to be baptized at the end of teaching the Plan of Salvation and their 12 year old son, Ernesto, just immediately says "si".
whaaaa
Faltima, the mom, was a little more jaded about it. Lots of prayers her way....

We are so excited for this family, especially for Ernesto, he is real special. i thought it was so cool how the spirit guided even Elder Wells to get involved!!! Woo hoo!!

PRAYER IS RESTORATIVE
I had a really hard evening this week because well with a wild turn of events we had NO CAR OR BIKE and zero way to do any missionary work also we had no plans because we were finna work in another area that night but could not get there. So we were stuck like flailing around for like 3 hours with no transportation and I felt really vulnerable and lame and i started feeling waaaaaaay down and went to bed feeling #sad, the worst thing ever.
Then that morning, after not sleeping super well, i just poured out my whole heart to God, telling him everything. And why I felt so sad and basically pleaded that he would help me not feel that random weightiness if I could avoid it.
I was filled with radiant light the rest of the day and it was such a blessing... i know my Heavenly Father heard my prayer and allowed me to process and move through that really weighty things with him by my side. That is a miracle, and I am grateful for praying.

LE CHALLENGE
Pray longer than usual, and pray with a notebook and pen in hand. Ask questions to God, pause, and write down the answers He tells you. I started doing this this week and lemme tell ya, it works! Lots of fresh inspiration. And love flows.
Let me know how it goes :-)

i shall hopefully be attatching separately a voice recording of the recipie for Hermana Ascencio's famous Caldo de Res. Spanish speakers, enjoy.

I hope you had an all-around magnifiscent week full of living, learning, expanding, growing, smiliing, etc. If not, good thing this week exists, too!!

con muuuuucho cariƱo,
