How did that homie upstairs knowwww I needed her precisely in my life. She is a rockstar, dudes. 
Just so you can have a little better understanding of our relationship: 
- we are in sync w/ LITERALLY everything
- she hugs me when I have melt downs and feel sad for no reason :,) 
- she is ravenclaw, I am gryffindor
- we already made plans for friend dates post mission. Incl. International travel
- she WILL be singing smooth jazz at my wedding, and will be my bridesmaid, too. (if I ever get married lets get real lol i have zero plans rn ¡no se preocupen!) 

Wow. What did I do to deserve this phase of my life? I have struck a patch of ☆mission blissss☆
Being back in Garland has honestly been so miraculous, transformative, and healing for me. Especially after some deeply gruelling times leading up to this point. 

A reflection: 
Satan will usualy work REALLY HARD to have us give up on something riiiiight before it gets good, and the payoff comes.
Did I have an emotional breakdown right before this xfer? 
for sure!
Has it been the most incredible xfer of my mission thus far?
heck ya! 
Interesting pattern to be aware of. 

Learned a lot this week. 

HAPPENNINGS:
- Was sick in bed for 2 days. Slept for más o menos 36 hours with a few breaks to go to the bathroom and make flaxseed tortillas with eggs. 
Recovering from a bout of insomnia is interesting. Self care is best care, chickens 
- had the best zone conference of my mission, yet I almost didn't go because I was feeling sick. But still sent it, and was #blessed bc of it 
- SO MANY SPECIAL PEOPLE WHO I LOVEEEE CAME TO CHURCH. Heart is bursting and so so full. This 80 y/o who swore she would never come came STRIDING INTO SACRAMENT WITH A HUGE GRIN ON HER FACE 
luv mercedes. 

FOOD:
- cooked lots
- shopping at sprouts, again. So good. Recommend everyone to shop there. Can I get a sponsorship plz and thx 
- discovered my favvvv granola bars: Bobo's. They are bomb. Do urself a solid and buy apple pie and maple pecan and give it a nibble :-) 

FUNNY: 
- had to exercise ALL of our strength during sacrament meeting to not BURST our laughing- one of our friends who is super cool and a little older sat by us in church. I gave him a notebook to take notes because he said he loved the talk. The talk ended, and he just looked oved at us proudly and was like (well in spanish but) "hey! So he talks waaaay too fast, but I wrote out alll the names of the people that live in my house!"
It was literally 
The funniest moment I have ever experienced in my entire life. It was so perfect. 
- plus so many other moments I can't describe. Had to b there. 

SPIRITUAL AND PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: 
- studied VIRTUE. 
woah. 
Dudes, I WANT MORE OF THIS STUFF
read Proverbs 31:10-31- actual goals. My favorite part of this passage I really want to internalize: 
V. 25-26 
"Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." 

I loveeee that. 
How have yall experienced an increase in virtue? How has it blessed you & those around you?

Hello, such a rejuvenating and powerful week!! I am grateful for  -Hermana Huerta -the city of Garland - People from Monterrey -the fantastic members of this ward I get to be surrounded by -biiiiig skies and yummy clouds -tamales -thrift stores and learning to budget -my basket on my bike -friends - making everyday comparisons to the Gospel - the ability to run  - and much more!! ASTONISHING BBQ WITH GREAT FOLKS I ate Texas Barbeque for the first time of my mission this week, and it was an excellent experience! WILL WE SURVIVE THE ABUELITAS?!!? | 9.17.18

Buenos dias mis amigos!! Another killer week here in Garland. Hermana Casper's mom asked if the honeymoon phase of our companionship has ended yet, NOPE still best of friends. I love my companion so much sometimes when we are separated for like a few seconds (like when she plays the hymns in sacrament meeting) I get sad because I miss her haha. i am content so many funny things happened this week. STUFF THAT I LEARNED At least as a missionary, the spirit is most of the time the same thing as your thoughts. A lot of people and missionaries talk about guidance from the spirit as being some slightly mystical, magnetic force that guides them. It's not like that, at least for me. I have seen multiple miracles this week (knocking on a door of a stranger and all 3 of us ending up in happy tears, finding a random 20 y/o who is way stoked on the gospel when we decided to knock on a completely random door, running into people at the grocery store who my companion has been ...

WEEK 2! | 8.24.18

Talofa mis amigos!!! Still doin just gr8 over here at the MTC. It is actually a very special place!!! It's like an uplifting cosmopolitan melting pot with mediocre food!!! I am in a branch with almost all international kids because we all already know English and the language we will be speaking on our missions. It has been one of my favorite parts about the MTC so far actually which I am super grateful for because I was initially kind of bummed about not being in a Spanish learning district like I was expecting to be in (basically all my classes are in English but I'll still be speaking Spanish once I get to Dallas). I'm meeting the coolest and most interesting people ever i love them a lot. There are people in my branch from Albania, Brazil, Samoa, Mexico, Colombia, Ukraine/Canada, and more. They have such cool stories and are really inspiring and amazing people. I think missionary work is so cool because these super young people are so inspiring to me!!! I've bee...
