WAVES | 2.18.19

I learned so much about my Heavenly Father this week and the love He has for us. He is reaching out to us through our families and He wants us to be guided during this lifetime.

ASSORTED HIGHLIGHTS

Luis and Andrea got baptized on Saturday!!

Truly it was a very special experience because it has been such a long time coming with these guys. It has been amazing to simply see how prepared they have been for over a year. I think that the coolest part was seeing the sheer amount of support that they had and how much love I saw projected toward them. Also their sweet grandpa Robledo was able to baptize them and he was so excited. It was really special to see the outpouring of love and welcome from the ward.

I have been really aware lately of the way Jesus Christ is teaching us the limits of our control. We have started studying the New Testament as a mission, and one of the most powerful stories that has always stood out to me is Jesus Christ calming the tempest. It hit me, in a very major way, that, no matter how difficult or turbulent times get, we can have the deep and constant knowledge that He will always keep us safe. He is never really departed from us, and it is up to us to choose if we are going to fear the situations we pass through, or have faith through them. At the end of the day, we will always remain with "a great calm" if we confide in Him.

"Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm."
matt. 8:26

"Thou rulest the raging of the sea: when the waves thereof arise, thou stillest them."
psalm 89:9

the waves and turbulence in life WILL come. as we come closer to Him, we will be able ride out the storms with a deep, internal calm.

I am grateful for Him.

Also, I am very grateful for my family!! I was able to talk to them on the phone today and it was really special... it helped me remember how important that support system is, and realize how grateful I am to have them backing me up every step of this journey.
