THIS WEEK WAS EXCELLENT | 1.21.19
this week was excellent!!! Mount Pleasant is a very special place
HAPPENINGS
- Hermana Casper got to be my companion for one day because we went on splits and it was absolutely amazing bc Mount Pleasant is her old stomping ground!! I learned so much from her, specifically that I am not at all alone in being obsessed with her!! she came back after a year of not being here and it was so inspiring to see the look of sheer joy people got on their faces when they got to see her again. She also taught me that most of Mt. Pleasant smells like chicken always, because of Pilgrims, and she is right, and I can't un-notice that now. jaja
- we also ate the best huaraches I have ever had
- had an extremely edifying zone conference
- we were handed 2 crisp $20's this week!!!!! what?????
- we are teaching a nice lady from Mexico named Veronica and every time we have gone by she gives us a full plate of amazing Mexican food
- I really love where I live because there is so much wildlife. every morning I get to watch the sunrise and every night I get to stare at a lotttt of stars. God loves us
SPIRITUAL MUSINGS
"For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."
1 Corinthians 13:12
In 7th grade my lovely history teacher Ms. Hart told us an analogy that I still think about a lot. We are like blindfolded people who walk into a room and begin slowly feeling about the room. We learn and experience various aspects with basically no idea of their proportion, and are unable to see how they fit together very well. Then imagine someone walking in and flipping on the light switch, and taking in all of the aspects of the room all at once, with their eyes- the same way God can see all of creation and time and all of us all at once. There's something so comforting in this notion. We will never know everything. During this mortal space within which we are operating, we see through a glass, darkly. The only true way to invite that light into our lives is to get closer to that source of all Light.
"And if your eye be single to my glory, your whole bodies shall be filled with light, and there shall be no darkness in you; and that body which is filled with light comprehendeth all things."
D&C 88:67

I love you guys! Being a missionary is really hard sometimes especially being in this new area because I get lost a lot but I am very glad because I have been able to see so many tiny miracles every day and learn to love the people here in this tiny happy town.
